Engrish

Near our house was an outlet store called 'Passport' that sold very cheap clothing. Usually the shirts had English printed on them, because the Japanese people thought it was cool, just as some Americans think Japanese symbols are cool or fashionable. Anyway, almost always the English made no sense at all, likely due to translation errors. Here are a few of the shirts we picked up.

"Number extentview THE underact I've Save Good Think Of Country I have heard of it before this ONE*S RUSTLED" (well said, well said.)

Front: "Wake Up Happy I'll run to meet you barefoot barely In the direction insist on heading."

Back: "I've got one hand in my pocket and the other one is playing the guiter yesterday."
*do they mean guitar? Also, the tense must have been very confusing.

Front: Very Fond---A cheeseburger out of a can? Now that's something I'm very fond of!

Back: "Scramble Flavor!" Now that's a flavor I must try! And then the corner box reads: "Smile Over 85 Classic Standard The Objective Basic Casual." Nice....

Tell me, what is "rapt" and how is it absorbed?

One of the greatest shirts of all time! The random-osity is just mind boggling. "Hurray! He Loves The Meat Brown. This New Shampoo Make My Bristles As Good As Prolong! Bright Eyes Strong Bones Every Food Need For Health"

"Good Harmony The taste of No. 1 Milk Ice Cream Sandwiches 7 Sandwiches" Okay, so how many of you were a little weirded out by their choice of how many to put in a box? Lucky number seven. Is there anything in America that comes in sevens?

"Louisiana COOK A child is very fine Spaghertti & MEATBALLS with TOMATO SAUCE" Okay, first of all what does 'spaghertti' of all things have to do with Louisiana? Secondly, Chef Boyardee is now 'Cook A child is very fine." What a name, what a name.

"How Sad. Life is tough. But I can go on. good luck." Doesn't get any simpler than that.

"Robustly Keep healthy body & chaste soul pure and simple style" I found that when I wore this shirt, the word 'Robustly' was right smack dab across my breasts, and people couldn't help but stare.

One of my absolute favorite finds. "My Sweety Concerned About Getting Heavy In The Middle! She said she has to be on a diet. She doesn't change her mind. When she wear white, she look heavier than you actually are." The best part? They think peanut butter comes in tuna fish cans.

"All the lerves have fallen from the tree" Hmmmmm, I wonder if they meant to say 'leaves." Probably not, huh?

"Have You Had Your Love Tomorrow?" It seems that they got their tenses mixed up.

FRONT: "Expectation It be your feeling, whether or not it does not believe or it believes"

BACK: "Future expectation Do you try it once? Future will try to be looked It be your feeling, whether or not it does not believe or it believes" If anyone knows what they're trying to say here, just let me know.

C'mon see if you can read it. I think it says, "The rugged which demon stealthily, rider which advance earnestly with the aim of the goal!"
