Cherry Blossom Season

The cherry blossom season is a huge event for the Japanese people. When the cherry trees are in full bloom people celebrate the season by throwing parties, having picnics, and going to festivals. It is very beautiful to see the vast amount of cherry blossoms come spring time in Japan.

Sometimes it looks as if the blossoms melt into the sky.

Mike and Jamie,

Firstly I'd like to tell you that your photographs are absolutely beautiful. What caught my eye most are these cherry blossom trees. Your photographs of them are definately one of the inspirations for the English descriptive writing piece that I'm currently writing in school. (:

I wanted to ask the both of you if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions about your career for me. I am at the point in school where we are having to make career decisions and seriously think about our future. One of the careers that I am interested in is teaching English as a second language over in Japan, and after seeing your blog I am further encouraged it would be a fantastic career to have.

The things I wanted to ask you are:

1. Are there any specific subjects I should should be taking at school in order to enter this career?

2. When you taught English in Japan, were your lessons completely in English or did you speak Japanese also? (What I mean to ask is that would it be best if I could understand japanese and knew how to speak it well if I wanted to teach English over there?)

3. What is the most rewarding thing about your career?

I hope you hear from you and thankyou very much for your teim, outstanding blog and photographs.

From, Laura.
