We drove to Nio early in the morning and had a swim at the beach. We were the only ones there. It was nice.

About Us
Four months after we were married, we moved to the city of Marugame, located on one of Japan's southern islands called Shikoku. Our purpose of going there was to teach English as a second language. We worked for a small, private juku run by Fumi Morimura. As her school began to grow, she eventually bought Marugame International Academy and we worked under that company's name for the remainder of our stay in Japan. We taught students from age 2 to age 80 using our own lesson plans and curriculum. Our experience there was unforgettable. We loved learning about the Japanese culture, traveling the country, eating the food, but most importantly, we loved the people. We made many Japanese and foreign friends while we lived there, and still keep in contact with several of them. We hope to be able to visit that beautiful country again someday with our children.
About These Pictures
All these pictures were taken with a standard 35 mm camera... the kind with film and everything! Yes folks, before we ever owned a digital camera. We spent the last few months scanning and posting these all for your viewing pleasure! If some of them look dark, fuzzy or gritty I hope you'll find it in your hearts to forgive us for not being more technologically advanced back then.
