Sweet Looking Car

Japanese cars are pretty much cool, am I right?

This was one of the cars that the Gem School teachers had to drive around in, dubbed "The Gem Shool Giant" for obvious reasons. Jason and Claire let us sit in it and there really was no room at all for 2 people to be in there and be comfortable. Behind us is the local Marunaka grocery store.

About Us

Four months after we were married, we moved to the city of Marugame, located on one of Japan's southern islands called Shikoku. Our purpose of going there was to teach English as a second language. We worked for a small, private juku run by Fumi Morimura. As her school began to grow, she eventually bought Marugame International Academy and we worked under that company's name for the remainder of our stay in Japan. We taught students from age 2 to age 80 using our own lesson plans and curriculum. Our experience there was unforgettable. We loved learning about the Japanese culture, traveling the country, eating the food, but most importantly, we loved the people. We made many Japanese and foreign friends while we lived there, and still keep in contact with several of them. We hope to be able to visit that beautiful country again someday with our children.
