Zentsuji Temple Grounds Part II

A Day in Marugame with Mom and Steph

One of the Shotengai (outdoor shopping malls) in Marugame.

A Japanese mannequin displayed at the shotengai.

We'd see these "political" buses drive through town once in awhile. They were really creepy, all black buses that played scary music over a megaphone. I was happy my mom and sister got to see it.

Steph, Mom (who for some reason looks totally angry) and Mike feeding the pigeons at the Marugame castle.

Fish in the mote surrounding the Marugame castle.

Eat the crumbs out of my hand, dammit!

Swimming Hole in Oboke Canyon

While Mom and Steph were visiting we took a drive up Oboke Canyon with our other English teaching friends to a secluded little swimming hole. The canyon was amazingly beautiful and the river was so green.

Some of us jumped off those rocks in the background. It was pretty sweet.

Nio Beach

We drove to Nio early in the morning and had a swim at the beach. We were the only ones there. It was nice.

New Reoma World Part II

Before going to class I took Mom and Steph to New Reoma World. It was such a hot day, but we all had fun anyway.

This wall with lots of cool engravings ran all along the zoo portion of the park.

Steph and I next to this scary statue.

It was so hot outside that none of the animals wanted to move. I felt bad for them.

Sweet bird, not sure the name of it.

Hippo swimming around it's pool of disgusting filth.

I just love the look of Japanese roofs.

Me and my sister on a camel statue.

We saw these statues in some man's yard on our way home. We thought they were amazing.

Ritsurin Koen Part II (summer)

Ah, the innocence of youth. Children run and play in a big grassy area.

Don't ya just love the moustache on the tour guide? I believe he was Chinese and the tourists next to him are from northern Japan.

Mike, Steph, and Mom.

Nice little shanty, eh?

Karaoke with Mom and Steph

What better thing to do on a hot summers day than sing karaoke in an air conditioned room that sparkles?
