Swimming Hole in Oboke Canyon

While Mom and Steph were visiting we took a drive up Oboke Canyon with our other English teaching friends to a secluded little swimming hole. The canyon was amazingly beautiful and the river was so green.

Some of us jumped off those rocks in the background. It was pretty sweet.

Nio Beach

We drove to Nio early in the morning and had a swim at the beach. We were the only ones there. It was nice.

About Us

Four months after we were married, we moved to the city of Marugame, located on one of Japan's southern islands called Shikoku. Our purpose of going there was to teach English as a second language. We worked for a small, private juku run by Fumi Morimura. As her school began to grow, she eventually bought Marugame International Academy and we worked under that company's name for the remainder of our stay in Japan. We taught students from age 2 to age 80 using our own lesson plans and curriculum. Our experience there was unforgettable. We loved learning about the Japanese culture, traveling the country, eating the food, but most importantly, we loved the people. We made many Japanese and foreign friends while we lived there, and still keep in contact with several of them. We hope to be able to visit that beautiful country again someday with our children.
